As of today the new single ‘Safe and Sound’ is out on all portals! The song is about finding happiness and safety in the closeness of the people you love, and the fear of losing. The song was produced in collab with Jens Munnnik (produced Wulf a.o.) and for the videoclip Voncken travelled to Puerto Vallarta in Mexico to shoot in the most amazing locations. NL: Onlangs lanceerde VONCKEN een speciale actie rondom de release van de Supergirlvideoclip, #odeaandesupergirls genaamd. Hij vroeg iedereen om onder de videopost op zijn facebookpagina hun eigen helden te taggen en daarmee een ode te brengen aan hun supergirls. Uit alle odes werd 1 winnaar gekozen die een live serenade van VONCKEN mocht geven aan haar Supergirl. Danielle was de winnares van de #odeaandesupergirls actie en afgelopen zondag verraste zij haar moeder Irene met een ode speciaal voor haar. EN: Recenty VONCKEN launched a special campaign around the release of the Supergirl videoclip, called #odeaandesupergirls. He asked his fans to tag someone who is very special to them and bring an ode to them online. One of the ode's won a live serenade by VONCKEN for her Supergirl. The most beautiful square in the whole of Belgium is a very special place to perform. NL: Op het eerste gezicht lijkt de combo 'Dirty Daddies & VONCKEN' een vreemde eend in de bijt. Toch is het verschijnen van VONCKEN op de 5 jarig jubileum show van The Daddies niet uit de lucht gegrepen. Jaren terug vormde een groot deel van The Daddies een band genaamd Destine. Ze waren getekend bij Sony Music NL waar Bart hun A&R manager (artiest & repertoire) was. Samen vlogen ze op en naar naar Amerika om samen te werken aan hun muziek, videos en image. Nadat Destine besloot ermee te stoppen, ging het overgrote deel dus verder als the Dirty Daddies. En niet zonder succes. Ze speelden reeds op de grootste festivals van Nederland waaronder Concert at Sea, Zwarte Cross e.v.a. 5 Jaar later is het tijd voor een feest. Dat zal plaats vinden in Tivoli Vredenburg tijdens een uitverkochte show in de Ronda! Heb je geen tickets weten te bemachtigen? Dan weet je in ieder geval zeker dat je de avond veilig doorkomt...
EN: The Dirty Daddies and VONCKEN don't seem to have much in common. But if you dug in their past, you would find their paths have crossed and circled around each other for quite a while. When most of the Daddies still formed a band called 'Destine' Bart worked intensively with them during their signing period at Sony Music NL. Being the A&R manager (Artist and repertoire) Bart travelled with them to the States and back, working together on the music, videos and image of the band. After Destine split up the band members formed a cover band. And they took the Netherlands by storm! Now, 5 years later the band is celebrating their 5 year anniversary october 14th with a SOLD OUT show in Tivoli Vredenburg. And Bart is joining them as a special guest! No more tickets available unfortunately. Well, at least you'll be safe...

EN: After the great K-otic '15 years later' reunion show in the Heineken Music Hall in dec 2016, VONCKEN made his special 'Supergirl' version available on youtube. 3FM DJ Frank van der Lende picked it up and played the song on the radio asking the listeners if the song should be released as a single. The answer was clear, so VONCKEN released the song on Spotify and Apple Music.
NL: Met de vraag van Jan Kooijman om het duet 'Broken Heart' samen met Elske DeWall te komen spelen tijdens zijn rubriek 'ochtendmuziek' op Q-music bij Mattie en Wietze, werd de song eigenlijk officieus een single. Zonder het gepland te hebben kreeg het liedje, dat Barts favoriet is op de EP, zomaar de aandacht die het verdiende. Meerdere uitnodigingen om het duet samen te spelen op nationale radio en tv volgden. Zodoende werd de song in oktober 2016 uitgebracht als single. EN: It was Jan Kooijman, a famous actor in the Netherlands, that brought this song to light. With his personal item on national radio station Q-Music called 'ochtendmuziek' he shines a light on 'undiscovered' songs, giving them the attention he thinks they deserve. So it happened that he heard VONCKENs EP Growing Old and couldn't keep himself from choosing this song to play to the listeners.
